There are thousands of active grant making trusts in the UK, each of which has their own funding priorities and application processes. Finding the ones that are a good fit for your organisation can feel like looking for a needle in a haystack! Of course there are paid for grant databases, but if you don't have the budget to pay hundreds of pounds a year for a subscription, where do you start??

Thankfully, there is lots of free support out there. Take a look at the links below to get you started:

  1. ESCC Funding Newsletter - compiled and emailed out monthly, this newsletter is full of funding opportunities. Although there are some specific to East Sussex, there are plenty of funders in there who fund outside the county, so well worth a look if you charity is outside of this area.

  2. The Resource Centre in Brighton has a list of 'favourite funders' on it's website

  3. Grants Online is a paid for service but you can subscribe to their monthly e-newsletter which lists some of the latest funding opportunities

  4. Charity Excellence Framework has a free funding finder

  5. You can access GRANTFinder at Jubilee Library in Brighton

  6. Community Base can provide you with access to Funds Online

There is also a wealth of information and support available via Community Works who also run free and low-cost fundraising training sessions.

A reminder that I am offering one charity four days of FREE support this summer, so if you would like support to develop your pipeline of prospective funders, or help with any other aspect of your fundraising, read my blog post here for further details and how to apply. Applications close at midday on 28th July.
